What is the origin of the word beer? Some people associate the word beer with the Germanic word bëor, derived from the Latin verb bibere, to drink. Others associate it with the Old Saxon word bere, or barley. Microbrasserie Charlevoix (Charlevoix microbrewery) opened on July 3, 1998. It produces local beers that are distributed mainly in the beautiful Charlevoix region. Guided tours and samples on site. The tour lasts approximately 30 minutes. Must be 18 or older. By reservation only.
