Lévis Forts National Historic Site of Canada
Français
Location: Lévis
Located on a promontory offering a magnificent view of Québec, the St. Lawrence River and the entire region, Fort No. 1 is an impressive defence work, built on the south shore between 1865 and 1872, to protect Québec from an eventual American attack. Restored between 1972 and 1982, today it is hidden behind voluminous terreplein, surrounded by a deep ditch and is accessible by a rollingbridge. ©Parks Canada
