Golfing opportunities abound in southern Québec, with an impressive array of courses at every turn: near cities, in the mountains, by lakes and rivers or even overlooking the mighty St. Lawrence. Whatever your level, you’ll enjoy swinging your club in stunning settings that reflect the changing palette of the seasons. Combine a resort getaway with urban proximity for maximum enjoyment!

What you need to know

Some of the finest golfing in Québec is to be found in its superb resorts, like the world-famous Mont-Tremblant in the Laurentides region or the luxurious Fairmont Le Château Montebello in the Outaouais region.

Many of Québec’s courses were designed by renowned architects. Some also play host to major tournaments that bring golfers accustomed to the top U.S. and European courses head-to-head.

Practical info

Most courses offer club and equipment rentals. Electric golf carts, also available for hire, are mandatory on some courses. Keep in mind that rates are generally lower in the afternoons and on weekdays.

Classification

Since summer 2011, the Corporation de l’industrie touristique du Québec (CITQ) has been giving one- to five-star ratings to golf courses that request the classification. The ratings are based on the quality of the facilities and the services offered.
