Numerous ferries offer year-round or seasonal service on the St. Lawrence River and other major waterways (the Saguenay, Richelieu and Outaouais rivers). A ferry also links the Îles-de-la-Madeleine to Prince Edward Island, while a passenger-freight ship serves the entire Basse-Côte-Nord region between Havre-Saint-Pierre, Île d'Anticosti and Blanc-Sablon.
