The unforbidden fruit

Photo
Don’t miss the second edition of the Cidres et Saveurs du terroir (ciders and flavours from the land) show, in Mont-Saint-Hilaire. On November 10 and 11, apple growers and cottage-industry producers will dazzle you with products you can really sink your teeth into. What could be better than enjoying a crisp glass of cider while breathing in the crisp November air?

PhotoIn Québec, the holiday season kicks off in November as locals begin preparing for the “réveillon,” or the traditional Christmas Eve feast. Some thirty apple growers and cottage-industry producers will be on hand at the Maison des cultures amérindiennes to introduce you to the succulent scarlet fruit for which the Montérégie is so famous.

Merchants of flavour

Cider producers, bakers, confectioners and sausage makers will assume the role of flavour merchants. This show is a fabulous showcase of the regional products that confirm the Montérégie’s lofty status as "Québec’s garden."

Got an appetite for apples?

PhotoIf the brisk fall weather whets your appetite for apples, then this is the show for you! For two days, each booth will offer you more than just a mere sample. You’ll be able to stock up on all sorts of goodies to delight your guests during the holiday season. Organized by the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Cidre du Québec (a volunteer guild dedicated to promoting cottage-industry ciders in Québec), Cidres et Saveurs du terroir will give you the perfect excuse for indulging in this tempting, unforbidden fruit!
