Rivière-des-Prairies Generating Station (Hydro-Québec)

Location: Laval

Located between the shores of Montréal and Laval, this generating station is one of the oldest Hydro-Québec power plants still in service. A guided tour will take you through its history, from 1928 to today, and show you the interior of this Art Deco facility with its vibrant and contrasting colours. Go inside a turbine shaft and then stand atop the 200-m (720-ft.) spillway. You'll be impressed by the sheer force of water when you explore this "urban" power plant!
