Nordic spas

Québec offers an abundance of cozy, intimate health centres – spas, Turkish baths, whirlpools and saunas – that provide you with expert care. The extremely popular Nordic baths, alternating hot and cold, are sure to invigorate you, as will the algae, mud or chocolate wraps, or diverse relaxing massage. Several accommodation establishments offer a wide range of care packages. Expert hands provide tremendous benefit, while delving into the core of your well-being and happiness.

Québec’s spas offer multiple services, and also present you with an excellent opportunity to enjoy our nature and splendid beauty. Swedish massage, reflexology, reiki or a massage in the rain or using volcanic rocks: What better way to rediscover how to relax and experience the pleasure that’s part of your well-being?

Chaudière-Appalaches, © TQ/Fabrice Jousselin To help you immerse yourself in the ever-evolving world of spas, here is a list of some of Québec's top spots where your well-being is all that matters:

BleuSpa – Outaouais

Nestled in Cantley, in the heart of the Gatineau region and just 15 minutes from Canada's Parliament Building, BleuSpa and its modern décor will delight any guest. The province's first to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, this spa is bathed in natural light thanks to its large windows, and offers splendidly tranquil relaxation areas. Featured are a sauna, Turkish baths, three hot tubs, and one powerful and refreshing cold shower. In addition to a menu of traditional services, clients can partake in Ayurvedic and aromatherapy treatments, as well as yoga. To put the finishing touch on your restful stay, swing by BleuCafé to try out the divine concoctions of our chef and sommelier for a real treat!

Balnéa – Eastern Townships (Cantons-de-l'Est)

If it's a more invigorating spa experience you're after, head to Balnéa! Every Friday, in the summertime, a DJ entertains guests looking to unwind before and after hitting the thermal bath circuit. All you need for a good time at this spa are your bathing suit and good spirits!

Bota Bota – Montréal

Located in the city's Old Port, this floating spa has been turning heads and winning over clients seeking a unique day-spa adventure. The converted 1950s ferryboat is now a vessel of repose that offers guests an experience completely out of the ordinary in a stylish, urban setting. Spread out over five floors, Bota Bota has a variety of rest areas and treatment spaces, hot tubs and cold baths providing spectacular views of the St. Lawrence River, Old Montréal and even the impressive downtown skyline! This novel water-bound sanctuary has everything one could ask of a Scandinavian spa, right in the hub of the bustling metropolis.

SkySpa – Québec City & Area

Somewhere between heaven and earth, this spa sits on the 17th floor of a high-rise building, treating guests to absolutely stunning views of the Laurentian and Appalachian mountains, the St. Lawrence River, Old Québec City and Château Frontenac. Apart from the open-roof patio and lounge areas, spa-goers have various other spaces in which to relax, including one where they can speak quietly and some where complete silence is mandatory.

Noah Spa – Chaudière-Appalaches
Located south of Québec City, Noah Spa offers thermal treatments not found anywhere else in Canada. A large saltwater pool kept at a comfortable 29°C (84.2°F) is divided into 11 stations with massaging jets targeting specific parts of the body: a fountain for the nape of the neck, nooks with jets for the back and legs, anti-gravity relaxation beds and a counter-current passageway. What better way for even the most wound-up clients to find complete serenity!
