Sunbathing in the city

© Claude Cormier et associésSince last year, you can go to the beach… right in the heart of Old Montréal! Silky sand, a boardwalk, multi-hued umbrellas and comfortable lounge chairs imbue the summer terrace built near the Clock Tower on the Quays of the Old Port with a real holiday atmosphere. Enjoy a bite at the Buvette, run by chef Giovanni Apollo. After a day of shopping and museum-hopping, how better to recharge your batteries than sitting back and watching the pleasure boaters, hair blowing in the breeze? This beach is modelled after the Paris Plages (Paris Beaches), an attraction that has returned to the City of Light each summer since 2002.
