The Québec Winter Carnival inspires a British novelist
Distributed in more than 18 countries, Belinda Jones' new novel
Winter Wonderland! showcases the Québec Winter Carnival from a whole new angle. The author and journalist, who specializes in travel writing and who has lived in the United States for about a decade, has already achieved literary success. In this new novel, main character Krista discovers the winter magic of the capital city—with its snow sculptures, ice canoe races and Ice Hotel, not to mention its maple delights—while on a business trip to Québec. She falls in love with a mysterious sled-dog handler named Jacques, whom she meets during the Carnival's traditional snow bath. Judging from the comments collected here and there, it appears that readers have fallen in love with the book's destination!

The writer got the idea for the novel after she went on a press tour organized by Tourisme Québec and the Québec Winter Carnival. While her previous novels are set in locations such as Tahiti and Argentina, Belinda Jones says she truly fell head over heels for Québec.
