Ice fishing with an urban flair This year,
Fishing Old Montréal invites you to learn to ice fish on the Clock Tower Quay basin in the Old Port, just a stone’s throw from downtown. Like all of Montréal’s activities, the site is easily accessible via public transit.

In the Ice Fishing Village built for the occasion, heated shelters can be rented, with several types of packages available. A valid fishing permit is required; if you don’t already have one, they are sold on site. Equipment and artificial lures are available for rent at affordable prices. This far up the St. Lawrence River, perch and walleye abound. If luck is on your side, you might even catch a sturgeon!
In the summer, enjoy a memorable outing on the river with a seasoned guide in a comfortable boat approved by Transport Canada. Inquire about shuttle service to the site from your hotel. After fishing, taste your catch on one of the St. Lawrence islands. Bring along a bottle of wine to enhance your meal. For a great gourmet experience, you can also have your fish prepared by one of Old Montréal’s participating restaurants!
