La Grande Traversée de la Gaspésie en ski de fond

© TQ/Raphael OuelletImagine: the entire Gaspé peninsula on cross-country skis with an incredible travel itinerary and distinguished guests to cheer the skiers on. This is a physically and emotionally intense event, totalling over 200 km (100 mi.) of skiing in six days, on marked, groomed trails in the mountains, along the shores and through open country. But above all, it is a place for celebration and enjoyable encounters. This jewel of winter tourism in the Gaspésie region received last year wide coverage press from the New York Times!

Over 300 skiers and touring skiers are expected. Over a 200-km (100-mi.) route of pure pleasure in six days, with a difficulty level that ranges from easy to moderate, participants will discover the winter beauty of the Chic-Chocs, Baie des Chaleurs, Percé rock,  Forillon national park and the Gaspésie. All trails are marked and groomed by a team on snowmobile.

La Grande Traversée of the Gaspésie region on cross-country skis, from February 22 to March 1, 2014, is more than a sporting event. It attracts over 50 volunteers and hundreds of citizens from different villages and towns, who come together to make sure that visitors enjoy a memorable stay. Mile upon mile of gliding and hours of addictive fun!
