Welcome to the Snow Village
After the success of this new attraction inaugurated last winter, the
Snow Village is back once again starting January 4 at Parc Jean-Drapeau. As part of the first ice hotel chain in the world, the site will reproduce the architecture of none other than New York City this year.
This Scandinavian-inspired concept, which will see the construction of an ephemeral complex to be open for 90 days on Île Sainte-Hélène, from January to March, offers visitors an authentic winter experience in the heart of Québec’s metropolis.
The Snow Village includes some 30 accommodation units, a fine-dining restaurant, igloos (including a heated one with windows), a sculpture exhibit, an ice bar, a conference and meeting room, a wedding chapel and, of course, a Nordic relaxation area with four spas. The village also boasts a bridge and an ice tunnel.
Visitors can explore an ice maze and enjoy the many activities offered on the site, such as dogsledding and sliding. In the evening, lighting effects projected on the ice buildings are a visual feast for the eyes!
This unique establishment, accessible by metro, is inspired by the Snow Village concept found in Finland and Norway and is located only minutes from downtown Montréal.
