The Musée de la Mer gets a makeover

The inauguration of Îles de la Madeleine's new Musée de la Mer took place on December 4, 2011. Expanded and modernized after four decades in existence, and redesigned to promote sustainable development and blend more seamlessly into the architectural landscape of La Grave historic site, the museum now offers visitors the Place à Palabres, a space where they can sit and chat over a sweet treat and coffee on every Wednesday morning. As you explore the site, you will relive the history of the islands and their inhabitants, including the marine voyages and legendary shipwrecks that made headlines in their day.
