Québec's natural heritage boasts a majestic beauty. The 27 national parks each one unique, typify the varied geography of Québec. The parks are established and managed according to the standards of national parks around the world. Each park must therefore achieve two major objectives: the permanent protection of natural environments and public access for education and activities that are compatible with its mission.

All of the parks have hiking trails and picnic areas and offer nature interpretation activities and nature guides. In most, visitors can rent recreational and sports equipment. To conserve and protect its national environments, Parcs Québec adheres to the Leave No Trace program, a code of ethics for outdoor activities which suggests ways to limit human impact on the environment. Plus, Parcs Québec uses an ecological approach in the daily management of its parks.
