In 1541, the rapids in the St. Lawrence River, south of the island of Montréal, represented an insurmountable obstacle for French explorers. Today, what are now called the Lachine Rapids are a source of endless excitement. Two thrilling excursions are available, just 15 minutes from downtown Montréal.
