This home was designed and built by the famous Paul-Émile Borduas in 1947. This well-known painter, co-author and signatory of the Refus Global, was also an instructor at the École du meuble de Montréal (Montréal school of furniture design), a hub for artists in the post-War years. His home, a former meeting place for painters in the Automatist movement, is now a centre for reflection on the era that preceded the Quiet Revolution. The documentation centre, which retraces the great movements during this period, is open to the public. |
