Site historique maritime de la Pointe-au-Père

Rimouski
Region:
Come aboard the Onondaga, the only submarine open to the public in Canada. Discover the lifestyle of crew members confined for months inside a 90-metre submarine. The Empress of Ireland Pavilion presents the history of the Empress of Ireland passenger ship, from its construction in 1906 to its tragic sinking on May 29 in 1914. The Pointe-au-Père Lighthouse, which was erected in 1909 and is one of the tallest in Canada, played a central role in navigation history on the St. Lawrence River. A guided tour will take you to the top, where you can admire the fabulous view.
