Baie de l'Isle-Verte National Wildlife Area

|
|
The last of the large salt marshes on the south shore of the St. Lawrence estuary. Created in 1980 by the Canadian Wildlife Service, the reserve protects the American black duck's habitat. The marsh filters the St. Lawrence, trapping tonnes of sediment. Its tide pools and mud flats make it an attractive feeding area for many migratory birds. |
