On the right-hand side of the path leading to the Manoir, from Montebello's main street, and surrounded by forest, is the funeral chapel of the Papineau family. Constructed in grey stone and crowned by a cross made of wood in the round, this chapel was blessed by Monsignor Guigues, Bishop of Bytown (Ottawa), in 1855, five years after the manor was built.
