King's Road

Regions:
The King's Road passes through the Lanaudière, Mauricie and Québec City and Area tourist regions. Open to traffic in 1737, it was one of North America's first major thoroughfares. The establishment of the King's Road made it easier for inhabitants to move about, led to further settlement of the territory and boosted colonial trade. Today, you can't help but be charmed by the picturesque villages and their ancestral homes that have survived three centuries of history. Several sections are part of the Route verte bikeway, meaning you can cycle it in safety. Route length: 258 km (160 mi.).
