The Craig and Gosford Route
|
|
Discover the unique story of the first roads that led to the settlement of the Eastern Townships in the early 19th century. Take a break at a roadside rest area, gaze at the same countryside that greeted the Scottish and Irish immigrants, and visit the many Protestant and Catholic churches and cemeteries that dot the route. Interpretive and other signs mark the itinerary. Route length: 200 km (124 mi.). Visit the Web site for full details and a map of this route. Excerpt from the Chaudière-Appalaches tourist guide |
