This park, whose surface area is 127 km2 (50 sq. mi.), is run by the Coopérative forestière du Bas-Saint-Maurice (forestry cooperative) and a consultative committee made up of partners, users and observing members. Objectives are the production and management of the collective resource with a view to sustainable development and the integrated development of forestry resources in the public forest.
