Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec Long neglected by Canadian art historians, the art of the nude in Canada has never before been examined in a survey exhibition. The show follows the history of the nude through the 1920s, 30s and 40s, as images of the naked body gradually broke with classical and academic tradition to espouse more liberal, humanist, intimate and socially progressive forms. |
