The Plateau and its staircases

One architectural element in particular distinguishes the Plateau: its staircases. The outdoor staircases of the district’s three-storey apartment buildings give it a unique cachet. July 1 might be Canada Day, but it’s also Moving Day Festival in Québec, since the date marks the start of a new lease. The streets come to life as people meet their new neighbours.
