“I wanted to create an installation that highlights the neighbourhood’s friendly and festive character through the use of dynamic lighting, video and architecture. Other visual artists can also use the screen for their own ends, thanks to the possibilities afforded by digital programming. Through artificial lighting, the window is turned into a meditation on the warp and weft of the urban fabric, and positions Place des Arts as a landmark in the heart of Montréal’s cultural life.”
