Orford - Eastern Townships
Lofty aspirations, and rightly so!
Mont Orford Ski Resort covers three mountains—Orford, Alfred-des-Rochers and Giroux. The largest is Mont Orford with its breathtaking views, topping out at a substantial 850 m (2,789 ft.). Orford is an impressive mountain with plenty of skiing and riding on 61 runs and glades serviced by seven lifts, including a unique hybrid gondola (six-passenger chairs and eight-passenger cabins), extremely rare in North America. Because of the three-mountain layout and four skiable faces, skiers and riders can follow the sun while being protected from the wind. The extensive and varied terrain ensures happy trails for everyone. Skiers are often amazed when they come across the yurts—Mongolian-style circular mountain tents—built on the main summit where they can stop and relax by a fireplace between runs.
