Rivière-des-Prairies Generating Station (Hydro-Québec)

Located between the shores of Montréal and Laval, this generating station is one of the oldest Hydro-Québec power plants still in service. A guided tour will take you through its history, from 1928 to today, and show you the interior of this Art Deco facility with its vibrant and contrasting colours. Go inside a turbine shaft and then stand atop the 200-m (720-ft.) spillway. You'll be impressed by the sheer force of water when you explore this "urban" power plant! Visitors aged 18 years and over must show proof of ID (health insurance card, driver's licence or passport) before touring the facilities.
