TRIP PLANNER


I. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

Tourisme Québec (TQ) has made a Trip Planner application available on the Bonjour Québec.com Web site, hereinafter referred to as the «Trip Planner». For more information, please visit the About us section on the Web site.

Creating a user account

In order to create a user account, you must be 18 years of age or older and agree to provide the following information for Tourisme Québec:

  • A valid e-mail address;
  • A password;
  • Your response to a security question, selected from a list of suggested questions; this will help you to obtain a new password if necessary.

This information is required for Tourisme Québec to create, manage and protect your account.
In creating a user account, you undertake to:

  • Keep your information up to date;
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of your password and the answer to your security question;
  • Immediately report any unauthorized use to Tourisme Québec;
  • Log out after every session by clicking on the «Log out» hyperlink in the application.

Privacy

Tourisme Québec is committed to safeguarding your privacy and your personal and confidential information published in the Trip Planner. In this regard, it is your responsibility to read the Privacy section.

Posting content

You are responsible for the content you publish in the Trip Planner. You must obtain all the necessary consent, particularly from anyone about whom you are posting personal information in the «My addresses» and «Reminders» sections, prior to posting the content on the site and sending it to a friend using the functionalities of the application.

Tourisme Québec recommends that you exercise caution and use discernment when sharing content from your Trip Planner, particularly from the «My addresses» and «Reminders» sections, which can include personal and confidential information. For this reason, you must be very careful in selecting the information you post and then share through the Trip Planner. If you prefer not to make the information contained in these sections accessible to others, you must not share it. If you do wish to share it, however, ensure that you have obtained the consent of those persons whom the information could help to identify. You pledge to Tourisme Québec that you are authorized to share the content of your Trip Planner and that the content you are contributing in no way violates the rights of third parties or the Terms and Conditions of Use.

Tourisme Québec is not liable for the dissemination of personal and confidential information that you choose to share, or for unauthorized use of this information or any harm resulting from it.

Deleting content or the Trip Planner

You may, at any time, delete content from the Trip Planner by clicking on the «X» found to the right of each bookmark, in the left-hand column, and even delete the Trip Planner itself by clicking on the trashcan icon at the bottom of the page.

Reporting content to Tourisme Québec

If you should come across inappropriate content on the site, such as content that is pornographic, racist or violent in nature, that has nothing to do with the purpose of the application, or that does not respect the Terms and Conditions of Use, please report it by e-mail to Tourisme Québec at the address contained in the paragraph entitled Questions or concerns in the «Privacy» section, below.

Tourisme Québec reserves the right to delete any content that it deems inappropriate or that has been reported.

Hosting the site and its content

The Trip Planner site and content are hosted by Tourisme Québec, and, where applicable, its partners.

Copyright licence

By contributing content to the Trip Planner, you grant Tourisme Québec a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence (including the right to sub-licence), to reproduce and distribute and publicly display such content so that Tourisme Québec can host and, when necessary, use partners to host, content under the responsibility of Tourisme Québec. The copyright licence expires when the content in question is deleted.

You warrant to Tourisme Québec and the Government of Québec that you have all the necessary rights to post content and to grant this licence to Tourisme Québec. You further warrant to Tourisme Québec and to the Government of Québec that the content you contribute does not violate the rights of third parties or the Terms and Conditions of Use.

Deleting a user account

Tourisme Québec reserves the right to delete user accounts that violate the Terms and Conditions. It may also delete accounts for administrative or security reasons or if the accounts are inactive.

Deleting a user account by you or Tourisme Québec- is final, with no possibility of recovery. Once an account is deleted, all content submitted by the user is automatically deleted as well, along with any related pieces of information, on the Trip Planner.

Final provisions

Tourisme Québec reserves the right to temporarily suspend or terminate the operation of the Trip Planner site, in whole or in part.

This site is not a service for hosting or storing your personal content. Accordingly, you must store your original files on another data storage medium as they cannot be retrieved or downloaded from the Trip Planner.

Tourisme Québec and the Government of Québec are not liable for any loss or damages you may sustain from the use or non-availability of the Trip Planner, particularly where accuracy of information is concerned.

Tourisme Québec reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time.

The Trip Planner application and its use are governed by the laws of the province of Québec. Any disputes arising in connection with the site are subjected to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Québec.


II. PRIVACY

Tourisme Québec is committed to safeguarding your privacy and the personal and confidential information published using the Trip Planner application on the Bonjour Québec.com Web site, hereinafter referred to as the «Trip Planner.»

Personal and confidential information

To create a Trip Planner, you must create a user account and log on to it. With the exception of personal and confidential information collected during the creation of a user account to manage and protect the account, as well as other information collected automatically on the Trip Planner site, Tourisme Québec does not collect any personal or confidential information.

Internet users who have received a share URL, a PDF file or an iCal file from a Trip Planner author can visit the Trip Planner. However, they can only access the «My addresses» and «Reminders» sections of the Trip Planner if the author has so authorized.

The Trip Planner allows you to post information in the «My addresses» and «Reminders» sections, including personal and confidential information, about yourself or a third party, or information that could be used to identify you or a third party. Personal and confidential information collected to create user accounts

Personal and confidential information is requested when you create a user account on the Trip Planner site in order to manage and protect that account. The information requested is a valid e-mail address, a password and the answer to a security question selected from a list of suggested questions that can be used to obtain a new password if necessary. It is your responsibility to keep this information up to date.

None of the information collected to create your account is made public. It can only be accessed by you and MTO staff members who are directly involved in managing Trip Planner user accounts. The personal and confidential information that you agree to provide is protected in accordance with the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information and any other applicable legislation.

If you provide other information when you communicate with Tourisme Québec about the site, particularly with respect to copyright infringement or breach of privacy, this information will only be used by MTO staff members to respond to your request. Where applicable, the personal and confidential information that you agree to provide is protected in accordance with the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information and any other applicable legislation.

Other information collected automatically by the site

When you access the bonjourquebec.com site and the Trip Planner, information is automatically exchanged between your computer, the site server, and the servers of Google Analytics, a third party tasked with compiling statistics on site use.

The information exchanged includes:

  • The domain name of your Internet service provider and your IP address;
  • The type of Web browser and operating system used to access the site;
  • The date and time of your site visit;
  • The site pages you visited;
  • The address of the Web site that led you to the bonjourquebec.com or Trip Planner site.

This information exchange is necessary for the proper operation of the site. The information collected is kept for statistical purposes, namely to keep track of the number of visitors, the most visited pages and the technology used by Internet users. It is stored in data logs for site security reasons and used to compile statistics on site use. Information in the site's data logs can be communicated to third parties for security verification or legal investigations. It will not be used for any other purpose.

Security

Tourisme Québec applies security measures, including recognized encryption methods, to guarantee the confidentiality of your e-mail address and the integrity of your user account at all times.

You are responsible for the confidentiality of your password and the answer to your security question. Tourisme Québec and the Government of Québec are not liable for unauthorized use of this information. If the confidentiality of the information is compromised, please contact Tourisme Québec immediately to prevent fraudulent use of your user account. Use of cookies

The Trip Planner site uses two types of cookies, temporary and persistent.

A temporary cookie is required for technical and security reasons related to site navigation. This file is saved in your computer's random access memory (RAM) and is deleted automatically when you close your browser. A temporary cookie does not contain any information that could identify you.

A persistent cookie is saved on your hard drive. It contains information that can identify you and your computer. This information can only be read by the site and by Google Analytics to compile statistics on site use. You can delete persistent cookies using options in your Web browser. However, please note that some of these cookies will be recreated the next time you visit the site.

Reporting content to Tourisme Québec

If you notice content on the site that constitutes an infringement of your copyright or a breach of your privacy, please notify Tourisme Québec in writing at the address listed below under the heading Questions or concerns.

Tourisme Québec reserves the right to delete any content that has been reported.

Deleting user accounts and content

Tourisme Québec reserves the right to delete user accounts that are not in accordance with the privacy policy.
