The Route des Belles-Histoires (beautiful stories route) allows visitors to discover the Laurentides region from a different angle. The route’s historic theme showcases the area’s development from a forestry, agriculture and tourism perspective. Follow one of the roads that featured in the region’s colonization from Saint-Jérôme to Mont-Laurier, stretching 284 km (176 mi.) along Highway 117 and the Le P’tit Train du Nord linear park. Several loops will also lead you to different sites of great heritage value. As well, the train stations, museums and interactive terminals provide video clips offering a snapshot of the local history.
