A day in the park

Parc régional du Mont-Ham

This circuit begins by ascending Mont Ham, which dominates the region. It’s worth reaching the top because the view is simply spectacular. The park has a golf course and various accommodations. A baggage transportation service is also available.

Maison du granit and Morne de Saint-Sébastien

The Maison du granit, located in an old quarry at an altitude of 680 m, explains the history of the region’s granite industry. Stretch your legs along the Morne trails and admire the stunning views!

A tour of Lac-Mégantic with a local guide provides insight into the 2013 rail distaster, with a focus on reconstruction projects, history and architecture, punctuated by a few anecdotes. Be sure to book ahead.

Parc national du Mont- Mégantic is home to 125 animal species, including some 20 mammals. You won’t spot them all, but you may well cross paths with one of the many moose or white-tailed deer.
