Abbaye de Saint-Benoît-du-Lac

Region City
Eastern Townships Saint-Benoît-du-Lac
Starting in 1912, Benedictine monks from France built a monastery overlooking Lake Memphremagog. The modern Abbey pays tribute to the harmony of natural geometric forms and makes splendid use of multicoloured bricks and granite. Visits are offered at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.: discover the history of the site with a special story, access to the church terrace and a beautiful view and exclusive video on the life of the monks including their testimony. A wide variety of homemade products are available at the store year-round such as cheese, ciders and apple products. Pick-your-own apples in season, retreats and guided tours are offered to discover an exceptional site.
