From Saint-Constant to Chambly
Kick off this route at full steam with a visit to Exporail! Features over 160 train cars and locomotives. Several installations are wheelchair accessible. Times have changed, but as universal accessibility wasn’t a high priority when some of the trains were built, not all are accessible.
Stretching nearly 20 km along the Richelieu River, this canal connects Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu to Chambly. It’s the perfect spot for a walk along the river or a bite to eat in Old Saint-Jean.
Visit this fantastic fort and learn about its history, which began as a wooden structure built by soldiers of the Carignan-Salières Regiment in 1665. Guided tours, exhibits and activities will make for a memorable adventure.

At this interactive museum, you’ll walk in the shoes of a pilot, a publicity star, a builder and much more. A multimedia show tells the story of J. Armand Bombardier, the ingenious inventor of the snowmobile.
You won’t find any cherries in the river, but the marsh was named after the municipality once known as Cherry River. It features an interpretation centre, six km of accessible trails, wooden walkways and a stunning view of Mont Orford!
To end this route on a high note, enjoy a supper cruise aboard the Grand Cru and marvel at the beauty of Lake Memphremagog. The sunset over the Appalachians is magical, and you may even catch sight of Memphre, the lake’s fabled monster.
