Festivals and events: experience the thrill of the city of Québec
With its fortifications and old-world charm, Québec is a delightful historic city that really comes alive when it’s time to have fun. With its many vibrant events and festivities held throughout the year, often in lively parks, the capital is an exciting place to visit. Especially in summer, when these big events give people all the more reason to get out, sing, dance and have fun. Here’s a quick overview.
Things to do and places to go to have fun
Québec is our capital, but it’s also the capital of music festivals. In summer, international artists gather here to put on fantastic outdoor shows. People also enjoy hanging out by the river and going for a dip when it’s nice out.
At any time
- Parc des Champs-de-Bataille– Plains of Abraham or shows, especially at the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand, escape games and family treasure hunts.
- Baie de Beauport to party with your feet in the sand (or in the water!).
- L’Oasis at the Port of Québec to take a quick dip in the St. Lawrence River or to lay back and enjoy the scenery as others brave the cold water.
- Promenade Samuel-De Champlain beach station to swim in an infinity pool that feels as if you’re in the river (but turquoise) or to relax on a fine sandy beach with chairs and parasols.
