Saint-Barnabé island, thus named by Samuel de Champlain in 1603, is located 3 km offshore from Rimouski. It is a migration spot for over 72 species of birds, including the cormorant and great blue heron. An inflatable boat travels between Rimouski and the island. Departures are every half hour, in both directions, from the marina in Rimouski and the island. In operation from mid-June to the beginning of September.
