Amos is nestled in the heart of Abitibi on the Harricana River, which flows north toward James Bay.

In days gone by, the river was the ideal waterway for transporting logs, but is now used mainly for pleasure rides by canoe. The town boasts a unique cultural heritage—a nod to its cathedral!—while being surrounded by pristine wilderness.
