This locality bears the name of Pierre-Esprit Radisson, a 17th-century French explorer and woodsman.
Founded in 1974 for the workers building Hydro-Québec’s hydro-electric stations in Baie-James, Radisson is a modern-day pioneer village. It is the northernmost francophone community in the world, located north of the 53rd parallel. It’s a world unto itself!
