    Péribonka, à la source des mots is first and foremost a celebration of the richness and diversity of Franco-Canadian literature. While featuring stories that are firmly rooted in Péribonka, such as Maria Chapdelaine, the exhibition also highlights the imaginative sources of more than thirty of your favorite authors. Péribonka, à la source des mots is an invitation to discover, create and experience literature differently.
  • La Maison Samuel-Bédard (The Samuel-Bédard House)
    In 1912, French writer Louis Hémon arrived in Péribonka on foot, having covered the 110 kilometers between Roberval and Péribonka. He stayed with local resident Samuel Bédard for over two months. It was here that he observed the local population and took notes for his novel Maria Chapdelaine. Take a leap back to the early 20th century, right in the heart of the colonization of Lac St-Jean, by visiting the Maison Samuel-Bédard!
