Ice fishing, fishing under the ice, or pêche blanche as it’s known here... whatever you call it, we’re hooked!

You can go ice fishing on practically any Québec lake. Parks, wildlife reserves, and outfitters are popular places for this iconic winter activity. Our small decorated fishing huts will shelter you from the cold. (Some are heated.) They’re very cozy and, like us, colourful. You can rent them fully equipped. Get your tip-ups ready!

Seasons

Mother Nature lets us get together for ice fishing from January to mid-March. It’s always important to be cautious and to verify the ice’s thickness.

Did you know?

The fishing village Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade has over 500 huts. No wonder it’s Atlantic tomcod fishing capital of the world!
