Québec’s regions

Québec’s regions
Plan your stay by choosing a destination from among our tourist regions. Each offers landscapes, history and activities that reflect the uniqueness of our territory.

Three major cities

Whether you come by air, land or sea, you’re more than likely to arrive in one of these three cities. They are the main gateways to Québec. Welcome!

Montréal

It’s the biggest city. Over four million people from 120 nationalities contribute to Montréal’s vibrant spirit.

We are cosmopolitan and friendly, and we celebrate life through festivals, shows, museums and world-renowned cuisine. The city’s charm is enhanced by its colourful neighbourhoods, where heritage and modern architecture blend harmoniously. You’re bound to fall under the city’s spell!

Québec City

It’s a fortress, towered over by a huge “castle”! Québec City, rich in history, is the realm of both romance and festivities. Its stone houses and narrow streets give it a European charm.

From the top of Cap Diamant, observe the movement on the St. Lawrence River and the waltz of cruise ships in the summer. Our province’s capital is absolutely unique!

Québec City is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.

Gatineau

Nestled in the middle of a beautiful natural setting, Gatineau has everything you need to enjoy yourself! It is home to the Canadian Museum of History, the most visited museum in Canada.

Sitting along the Ottawa River, the city is separated only by a bridge from its neighbouring city, Ottawa, Canada’s capital. With its immense park covering 361 square kilometres, Gatineau is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise.
