Its unique landscape was shaped by a meteorite impact 400 million years ago.

To be discovered absolutely

Our mountains conceal breathtaking gorges, our local products can be discovered along the Flavour Trail (Route des Saveurs) and a magnificent river view awaits atop the Massif de Charlevoix mountain.

Le Massif de Charlevoix in Petite-Rivière-Saint-François

Le Massif de Charlevoix offers the highest vertical drop east of the Canadian Rockies (770 m / 2,526 ft.) and a spectacular view of the river and mountains. While best known for its appealing ski centre, the mountain is just as beautiful in the summer and fall. If you feel like a challenging hike, take the advanced Crêtes Est trail. The stunning view of the river from high up is worth its weight in gold... and the effort.

Le Massif’s trails also reach those of the Sentier des Caps de Charlevoix network and the Gabrielle-Roy-Ouest trail, a section of the Trans Canada Trail. For mountain biking enthusiasts, trails will soon be developed. The area around Le Massif is so picturesque that Club Med is planning to set up a world-class four-season resort respectful of the environment, beginning in the winter of 2021–2022.

Club Med is set to arrive at Le Massif de Charlevoix in the winter of 2021-2022.

Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie

The Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie has some of the highest rock faces east of the Rockies. The park was named after a series of glacial valleys cut deep into the range of high mountains. It has the proud distinction of being one of the central areas of the Charlevoix World Biosphere Reserve.

Begin your exploration with a guided riverboat cruise on the Rivière Malbaie to appreciate the grandeur of the natural surroundings. There isn’t a lens wide enough to capture it all in a single photo! Its sharp vertical drops and beautiful landscapes along the river make this national park a virtual paradise for mountain hiking, canoeing, kayaking and biking. Or perhaps you’d be interested in a short guided mountain expedition?

Its 800-m (2,625-ft.) vertical drop make the Acropole des Draveurs trail a must!

The Flavour Trail (Route des Saveurs)

“Oh, you’re going to Charlevoix? Lucky you, you’ll just love the food!” We owe this common reaction to our Flavour Trail (Route des Saveurs), the first of its kind in Québec and the reason the quality of our local products enjoys a reputation far beyond our borders. This agritourism circuit, marked by road signs sporting a chef’s hat, brings you to some 50 agricultural producers and restaurateurs showcasing their local products bearing the Table agro-touristique de Charlevoix certification (“Certifié Terroir Charlevoix”). You’ll know it’s only the best, and only from the region!

The Flavour Trail also promises a gastronomical tour to visit livestock operations, vegetable growers, restaurateurs, producers, processors... all of them passionate, fascinating, creative and innovative. Just start chatting with one of them and you’ll see!

Created in 1996, the Flavour Trail (Route des Saveurs) is the first of its kind in Québec.
