Édith Butler Collection)Nérée De Grâce stands out as one of the most outstanding naïve painters in the Maritimes. This prolific Acadian painter, who died in Quebec City in 2002, was born in Shippagan, New Brunswick in 1920. After studying at the École des beaux-arts de Québec and a career as a commercial artist, he decided at the age of 57 to devote himself full-time to his painting. Through his canvases, he has sought to promote Acadia, collaborating with artists such as Édith Butler.
