Saint-Eustache
Designated a National Historic Site of Canada, Moulin Légaré was built in the 18th century and is the oldest water-powered mill still operating in North America. Be sure to stock up on freshly ground flour after the tour.
There are few wineries north of Montréal, but the Rivière du Chêne Winery is one of Québec's largest vineyards. It offers guided tours, wine tastings, gourmet events, picnics and a grape harvesting day.
Saint-Eustache, Mirabel
Come meet a princess in her magic castle at La Magie de la Pomme! In addition to kids’ activities and a petting zoo, the site features a bistro and U-pick apples, pumpkins and squash in the fall.
Intermiel explains beekeeping to children and adults—equipped with protective clothing, of course—and shows them the bees at work in their hives. Be sure to visit the meadery, the distillery and the maple interpretation centre.
Saint-Joseph-du-Lac
At Les Vergers Lafrance, apples are featured in their many forms, from pastries to ice cider and spirits, because in addition to its kitchen and cider house, the Lafrance family operates a microdistillery. The tastings are very popular!
Open during gourd season, the Centre d'interprétation de la courge is a great spot to pick your own squash and pumpkins and learn how to cook them.
Mirabel, Saint-André-d’Argenteuil
For garden enthusiasts, cultivating 14 gardens is a cinch! Visit Route des Gerbes D’Angelica’s themed, multi-sensory gardens to the lovely sound of music. Families can enjoy spacious playgrounds and a picnic.
The Chemin du Terroir leads to the Musée régional d’Argenteuil on the banks of the river separating the Laurentides and Outaouais regions. It is part of the Carillon Barracks National Historic Site, which focuses on the region’s military history.
